Yesterday I went to the Edmonds Volleyball Clinic at Mountlake Terrace High School.  I’m training for high school tryouts on August 25th.  The clinics are opportunities to work on my skills and introduce myself to the high school coach.  I’m very excited for tryouts and hope that all of the up coming camps I’m doing will prepare me.

I went with my Dad, Mom, uncle Mark and my dog.  It was really hard but it was cool to go and see the monument.  I’ve never hiked 9 miles berfore… actually I’ve never hiked period but it was worth it because we got to go swimming afterwards.

My mom is the ambassador for Lucy and she is training a group of girls for the Tron Girl 10k.  The 28th was our first training session.  I had to walk becuase I sprained my ankle a while ago and have to go easy on it so I’m ready for volleyball tryouts in August.  The run was really fun and evereyone enjoyed themselves.  I’m hoping that my ankle will be okay to run on for the next training session but if not I’ll probably end up walking the 10k.

I did the Cybex Arc Trainer for thirty minutes today.  It was a good workout, I like it better than running because it doesn’t hurt my knees.  I’m training for volleyball season.

When you play volleyball, you need to have the right gear.  Volley ball shoes, and knee pads are a must.  You want to buy shoes that are gummy on the bottom, court shoes, not running shoes.  You need knee pads too.  There are a lot of times when you have to get low to bump the ball.

I am a volleyball player.  I have been playing for a couple of years now.  It’s my goal to work out this Summer, so that I can make the select team next year.  Ultimately, I would like to play in highschool.  This blog/work out log will help keep me on track!
